Ken and I caught a few fish in the afternoon., Ken had two nice fish that were 3 lbs taken on the troll.

Good job Ken... nice fish.

By the way... do you think you brought enough stuff with you on your kayak?   :smt002  I think I see a little unused deck space way up by the bow.  :smt003

I was using a thomas lure with the outline of a bait fish. Half blue and chrome. I brought in a 3lber with it and a 13" pan fry. Everything I caught were on the top. I tried downrigging between 15 and 20' and the only thing I caught were glimpses of fish following the lure/flaser setup at the top.
Most of the day was spent trolling a broken back tiger color rappala that got a bump or two but no hits. Everyone swears by these and have I seen some nice fish taken with them.
We took everything in the cove just before the dam.
Ken can chime in with his tackle and story. Truly enjoyed the company and thanks for paying for my parking :) How was the Salmon fishing today?

Sorry Frank,

My pics of you were really bad.  Will post anyway.  Need to remember to get closer and not used telephoto when is it is breezy.

I got a couple of 3 lbs  on a silver & blue kastmaster.  Seems like the dodger & worm does not work at this lake.  Killer at Steven Creek & Lexington.  No good at Quarry Lakes.  Just my 2 cents.

Got thoses fish at 4pm and 4:30pm.  Got 2 others 12" &14" fishing from a dock with my landlock buddy.  He got one 12".

If we had not stayed late.  We would have been sorry.

Frank look at JDYAK report to find out how we did salmon.

Erik,

I have the hull filled with copper pipe insulation.  Just in case I start to sink out ocean fishing.  I can barely put my battery for my fish finder in there with my kayak cart wheels.  The ice chest is not for beers.  It is loaded with ice.  So I can bleed and ice the fish.  I like to keep everything I need on deck.  Even when rockcod fishing.

A place for everything and everything in it's place! The more stuff the better(sometimes) Yea, that's how I roll too! :smt003  Thanks for the X-tra details from your trip to Chabot.I've not been to successful Huntin' trout on the troll except once(my 1st newB trip) and heard that those flashers "feel heavy/drag"and that detered me from trying it.

Them bigger ones (2-3#'s) seem to be good fighters.
