I like a little spice in my salsa but finally met my match.

This stuff burns.  Could not even eat a whole chip with a little dab on it.  I had to take a spoon full and mix with not so hot salsa to dilute it.  So doing it that way I expect it to last a year.

I was just wondering if anyone else tried it and if they were able to eat it.

That stuff is brutal. I grew a bunch of "ghost" peppers and habs last year. I could not eat anything with the ghost peppers. Some of the habs were scorchers some were not but I like the flavor a lot more. I do not think the ghost peppers have the fruity floral profile the habs and other peppers offer they are just fire.

I got a ghost pepper salsa I plan to bring to the HOW event this weekend.
I was once in a chili eating contest that used ghost peppers. It came down to 4 of us.  They ran out of chili, we ate it all!!  So, it was a draw.  Later that night, I gave DW a kiss good night.  She hollered!  Ha!

Its amazing how fast the arms race is moving in the hot pepper world in the last decade. Thai Peppers gave way to Habaneros which gave way to Ghosts which gave way to Nagas and Scoprions and 7 Pots. Two words that should strike fear in your hearts (and fire in other places) ... Carolina Reaper.

Carolina Reaper ... 2,200,000 Scovilles
Ghost Pepper ... 1,050,000 Scovilles
Jalapeno ... 5,000 Scovilles

Carolina Reaper, because burn your skin off wasn't enough.

I wonder if its like eating chips while being hit in the face by bear spray?

Well I got one that is funny but not that hot, Jan has a recipie for salsa, and I have to admit her shorthand can some times be a challenge for me to read.  I did everything I needed to do but when it came to adding the peppers it called for 2 canned chipotle peppers in adobo, I thought it said 2 cans of chipotle peppers in adobo. Suffice to say it was a real butt burner!

Someone gave me these over the weekend, was gonna do some pulled pork in the BGE and use some for chilli. Maybe I can use 1/4 of one of those peppers, LOL.

I got Rockroach hooked on some ghost pepper chilli powder on a steelheading trip. Ask him about when he got some, LOL.
