I need to get back up to Folsom and give it a try too. Going to try and get out this weekend but might try Natoma. (Easier and more fun for the kids).

I wouldn't troll a rattle trap, I would think it would sink too fast. :/ Not sure though

rattle trap runs about 12 feet deep at about 2 miles a hour

I've trolled rattletraps and have caught fish. I was just kinda messing around at the time in my old v-bottom at a gravel pit in central Indiana. I can't recall the conditions. Was deep open water just using my trolling motor and wanting a line in the water. I think depth can be varied some by angle of the rod tip.
