I am going to be at the Forebay (Madeiros area) Saturday and Sunday--startign Saturday afternoon and camping & potluck Saturday evening with the group. It's with a group of fly fishers, some in kayaks. There will be some names there who are internationally known for big game fly fishing C & R--I'll get spanked for certain but hopefully learn at least something more.

I am sure conventional folks are welcome as well. Hail me on ch 69 if you want to hook up. And anyone who wants to brign a fly rod, letme know and I'll PM you about rigging and flies. Rickey Mitchell is going to be there Sunday as well he told me.

Is there some big flyfishing event this weekend?  Does this mean it will likely be pretty crowded Sunday?

We are only talking a dozen fly fishers based on the pot luck sign up. Not sure what the ratio of floattubes/kickboats/kayaks/boats will be though. But I would not fear overcrowding at all. This in not a tourney--no fees and no prizes--just a get togther of some friends and guides to say hello and wet lines together. It will be on the smaller side of BAM2 at most. And the Forebay is about Mendo sized. No worries. Come on down. the fishing should be awesome this time of year. Don't miss it or you'll be reading the report and wishing you came down :smt009

I will be there when you wake up sunday.I found this morning After the I don't know how manyth time I've taken it, I finally passed that stupid NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND test that would have cost my job at Fresno Unified  that I've had for 14 years. I will see you on the Forebay.
Why Do I paddle a kayak instead of a float tube or a pontoon boat? I like seeing where I'm going not where I've been!
Paddle safe and wrap'em tight.
