On the Revo 13 that's a 15% price increase over 1 year, not that it matters but did Hobie give any reason for it, plastic comes from crude oil, the price of crude this time last year was about $105/bbl, currently it's running about $95.

Nothing to be done about it but curious if they gave a reason for such a large increase.

Probably the cost of redesigning the molds as I was under the impression all new models changed to accommodate new seats.  Also I hope for the price they come with the new seat.  After market seats can be expensive so if included it will save some cash.  The fins are supposed to be an upgrade on 2015 which is standard.  So a few changes equals a few hundred bucks. And they know they will sell so at the higher price and old inventory will just sit there if the price was the same.

Hobie site says Vantage Seat is a standard feature.

I will do a write up once I get mine.  For now here's an article about the new seat:  http://www.kayakfishmag.com/featured-catch/2015-hobie-outback-review/

Good article about seat which gives me some hope.  8 hours OTW with no back pain sounds like a winner.

That wasn't an exaggeration. I love the new seat. In some ways it outdoes the PA's version - no armrests to get in the way. I'm prone to lower back pain in the old style on-the-deck seats. This is so much better.

Paul - Whats your impression on the lumbar support?

I think the lumbar support is excellent - for a kayak. Much of that has to do with the BOA tension adjuster, which I never touched - didn't need to. Of course I've only spent one outing on the new Vantage seat. The real test is how it performs over time. The PA 14's original mesh seat had some problems, but the PA 12's Vantage CT has performed well for me over the past year and change.

Thanks for the pics! I can tell the seat pan on that Revo11 is definitely lower to keep the C.O.G. the same. Did you have a Revo16 there today?
