My dog was pretty rustled this morning at that hour. It's totally out of character for him, but he has reacted like that to earthquakes in the past. I figured it was just a small quake and went back to sleep.

I hope you are all safe and well.

Yep, felt it in San Leandro, too. A roller--felt like I was paddling in small swells.

this is what it felt like to me too! House swayed a bit. Then I went back to sleep.

TV is on the floor, fish tank is half empty, power is out, dishes are broken and smashed ... but the kayaks are ok !  :smt044

In all seriousness, it was a pretty good rumbler and downtown Napa was hit pretty bad. Sounds like aside from cuts and scrapes and lots of frayed nerves, everyone is ok though.

Funny I was in the Philippines when we had a 6 something earthquake and it didn't feel like the one we had today. I thought the one this morning was a 4 or 5. Or maybe it's because I was still half asleep when it happened.

was enroute to go fishing on the Consumnes when I got an Emergency Ambulance strike team request for mutual aid to Napa. Staffing our dispatch ops center and getting crews enroute.

It was the first night in our newly rented 70 yr old cottage in Lafayette, shook pretty damn good. Found a few cracks in the walls tht were not there yesterday... I agree about it feeling like a four out here, then again pretty far from the epicenter

A few water main breaks, lots of gas line leaks, a couple of structure fires, the brick facades fell off of several buildings, some chimneys are down, an apartment buildings parking structure collapsed. Lots of broken windows around town and alot of the stores have significant merchandise lying in the aisles. One child was critically injured by a falling chimney sadly.

It felt like a freight train here in Napa with some pretty violent, sharp shakes. Furniture pulled a foot away from the walls, dishes dishes the floor, cabinets and bookcases toppled over, fences knocked down here peronally.

Cool to see neighbors coming together though and checking on each other and helping with the cleanup. Many neighborhoods were without power but people are brewing coffee or making breakfast for their neighbors on camp stoves in the yard.

I'm up in the hills north east side of Napa. I was awake when it happened. Very violent shaking. Quite impressive in comparison to anything I have ever felt around here. Fortunately the propane tank is darn near empty. Next to no damage in my small mountain home. The vinyl collection survived=I survived.

If you're effected by this quake, check for gas leaks. And be conscious of the fact that emergency response has their hands full in situations like this. In other words, be ready to help yourself. In situations like this response times to things like wildfires will suffer. Priority one is the highly populated areas.

I hope everyone is ok!

Hope y'all ok.

Major wake up call, get prepping everyone!

Look out for that unreinforced masonry in historical grandfathered buildings apparently that was no 1 killer in big one
