Yesterday we wrapped up the Delta Kayak Bass Series at Tower Park. What a fun year. It was a fresh crowed of passionate anglers. After three stops one man came out on top. Long time kayak angler and Delta master, NCKA's own Hobie Blue. I was stoked to see it go to a kayak guy, as many of the paddlers are long time boat anglers who recently converted to kayaks. Bryan (hobie blue) showed that fishing from a kayak really does make you a better angler. Great series, thanks to Brain for putting the whole thing together, and major things to Jackson Kayaks for the Kilroy, Yak Attack for all the gear, Bam from the Headwaters KAyak shop for the rigging, Werner Paddles for the two paddles, Outdoor Sportsman in stockton for the tackle and gift cards, and Informative Fisherman for all the free swag!

Here are the photos.  :smt006

Was entered but work and life interrupted going to all three. Would like my shirt though. Looked like a great time to have with fellow kayak fisherman. GOOD JOB.

Thank you Dan for sponsoring the event.  And, of course, a big thanks to Brian Shirk (Kilroy Bill) for creating, and hosting, an awesome kayak fishing tournament series.  It was a blast fishing all summer long in the events, and meeting a great crowd of kayak bass fishmen.

The competition was tight all the way to the end, I think second place was within a few inches of me up until the final 90 minutes.  I stuck with my pattern, and hooked up a nice 18.5 inch 4 pound bass as I was coming up the home stretch.

I am looking forward to testing out the new Jackson Kilroy, but I don't think I will change my screen name.

One of the big ones I got pre-fishing:

Well good job Bryan, I would have never guessed you would win ha ha. I had no doubt you would win. Even with all the good sticks there.

Congrats :groupwave :groupwave :groupwave

Nice job HB, would love to join you on the water. What percentage of people in this series fished standing up? I assumed you won sitting down?

Congratulations Bryan!  You were definitely consistant throughout the series.  Sorry I couldn't be there to shake your hand in person.

Thanks Reelfish...loved the support throughout the events.

ppickerell, thanks and we can go anytime.  Just pm me.  Weekends are best for me right now.  I think most people fished standing, especially the Jackson and the pro-angler crowd.  I never stood up once.  I cover water until I find 'em.  Went around 12 miles Sunday.

Matt, Ring King, thanks, but it wasn't the same without you.  I hope things work out for you, take care.

HB
