Yeah once it gets cold the Port will be hoppin.
Too bad we have so many great spots to chose from here in the Valley in the fall.......
I can't ever make up my mind!

Better than no or limited spots to fish. That is the beauty of the Delta.  Have you tried Georgiana Slough for stripers?  I heard the current is a bad there.

Not sure of where that is. I've most likely been there on my buddies boat. We do some traveling when we go out.
I always see spots I want to kayak, really far from any launches of course.
I'll look it up.

It is between the Sac River and Sac/San Jonquin Delta or Mokelumne by Giustis.  There is Snodgrass for stripers also.

Georgiana is still a mystery to me after 18 years.  I can't even catch catfish there!

Current is not an issue on GS.

Thanks Barefoot. I was wondering since I have seen boats trolling there. I have caught bass there but never tried for stripers.

Pound the bank, particularly rip rap, with a baby bass rattle trap and you will get tired of reeling in small mouths.  They are on fire right now!  I was casting up to the rocks, let it hit bottom then slow rolling first few seconds to a sweep and they were all over it near Vierras yesterday.  Wanted to salmon troll but my main motor was having fuel pump problems.  Use my bow trolling motor to save the day and had a fantastic day of bass fishing!
