Guess I'd have to give it a try, see how it feels compared to the old.  The only complaint I really have on my old one is lack of back support.  But I know on my X-Factor that when I added just a 1" foam pad to sit on, the balance of the kayak was quite different.  So if it felt the same stability wise, I'll be very interested in trading up!

I'd have to give ti some consideration if they added the transducer mount & this seat to the AI like they did to other 2014 models.

Looks like the COG is raised a bit, no?  But maybe the tradeoff will be worth it though?

Yes, and that could be a significant issue on a relatively narrow kayak like the Adventure (w/o the Island, that is).

Agreed, but using the AI/Adv with a single ama/aka rig is rock stable in the salt, and that seat could be a sweet upgrade.  Looking forward to trying one.  Guess it is not clear from the article if the Adv hull has been changed to accommodate the new seat.

Sign me up. Any idea on release date? Late Fall?

From the chatter on FB, seems like the kayak companies release their updates Sept 1.

Damn!  Maybe there will be a retrofit.  Probably not likely.

i don't need it until November, when I'm healed up...

I was just referencing your unfortunate incident that has laid you up for several months.

But yeah, I understand your hatred for the waterbath seat.

No kidding.  Don't hold your breath though.  It was explained to me that orange wasn't a big seller and thus the reason why they're no longer available.
