Wow!!!  Guess they're more serious this year than any other.

Okay A's fans, I'm curious about opinions.  Let them fly.

I'm happy with the trade. Nice to have Johnny back and to get a post season pitcher. Ces only had a batting avg of .220-.230. The team needs hitters and less sluggers. Oh and just now got an alert that Milone went to the Twins for OF Sam Flud.

If Lester wins in the post season and the A's win it all, it's all good.
YC is a horse, but you can't argue with Beane's moves.

Cespedes is hitting .256 which is respectable with 17 HR but his OBP is a little low - basically very few walks.

While I certainly agree with the idea, the A's weren't exactly laden with sluggers.  Currently, you only have 2 guys with more than 10 HRs.

YC is a horse, but you can't argue with Bean's moves.

In the postseason it's ALL about pitching and this puts Oakland in a great position.

I, for one, would never question Beane's moves.  His record speaks for itself with what little payroll he's given.

I consider myself a Hardcore A's fan, but this has got to be the dumbest move Beane has ever done.  You don't give up the franchise and he did especially for rental players.  One thing the numbers don't show and that is chemistry.  It will be interesting to see what happens with the morale of the rest of the team.

I think this is the biggest move in Oakland A's history since Rickey.  Note:  The A's didn't win a WS until they got Rickey back.

Okay now can I go back to bed and wake up from this BAD dream!   :smt010 :smt013 :smt010 :smt013

Cespedes isn't the franchise.

I can't speak to the A's clubhouse chemistry and what Cespedes brought to it but I can tell you that Lester has won 2 WS with Boston.

Yeah, that's pretty funny although not the first time it's happened.  A couple years ago it was with a bobble head I believe.

I like it!  Cespedes is a crowd pleaser, but Lester will be more important in the playoffs.  As a first time season ticket holder, I love the all-in strategy this year.

I love Cespesdes, but I think this was a good trade, plus Vogt/Gomes platoon should hopefully be as productive.
