I will be at Ocean Cove for rock fish and ling cod. Hope to see y'all there.  Does anyone know if there are salmon or striper in this area?

Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Hey there,

I'm all over it on 8/2 and 8/3.  I've been to Fort Ross and Stillwater cove before but never Ocean cove.  Where do you launch and what time?

Exciting....

I will be launching 8/3 Sunday morning at 700.  There is a boat launch at the Ocean Cove campground.  I think you may need to pay launch fee at the general store across Hwy 1 from the campground.  Ill be in a dark green sot fishing kayak.  My name is Ron.  See you there.  I'm really looking forward to it.

Tear it up guys. No Striper around there, but the salmon bite ought to be on. Ab opener is this weekend, so grab your land early.

Sounds good.  I'll be there at 700 in a black and white trident 13.

Checked the wave report.  Looks like 2.4m waves predicted in Jenner for Sunday.  Is Ocean cove pretty well protected?

Conditions look so-so.
It will be crowded as the ab reopener is on Friday.
I'd definitely troll for salmon...stripers not so much.

Also, as long as you carry or hand wheel your kayak to the launch there is no need to pay a launch fee.

I was there 7/19 caught a 32 inch Salmon mooching 'chovy about 100 feet, and I caught limits of rock with 2 ling. (see pic)

The following weekend I went and caught a nice mixed bag of black and brown, 2 ling ,1 rock greenling and 1 cabazon, but no salmon.

I'll be there trying for my second salmon ever Saturday.

I'm planning on driving up tomorrow afternoon, and fishing sunday AM.  If you see a crazy fool with a kayak lashed to a top-down convertible, that's me.
