First Halibut on the Kayak! Santa Cruz 7/27

Went out this morning out of the Santa Cruz Harbor.  The Halibut bite was on FIRE!  Especially the people trolling.  Got my first two Halibut of the kayak drifting dead squid.  The trick was to slowly paddle along in the morning when there was no drift so the sandabs didnt rape your bait.  Had quite a wrestle with both of them.  I guess they dont like being gaffed that much...  Wind picked up about 11am so i headed in close and even got a ling on a drift inside.  AWESOME TRIP!!

12# and 19# by the way.  Fish and chips tonight for the whole fam!!

The title of your post is wrong , it should read     First Halibut (S) on the Kayak .  Good looking fish, congrats.
