Braid 50# Powerpro green Curado 300 series with at least a 7 1/2 ft stick with some give to it. Set aside some time Sept-November preferably a weekday. Learn how to fish the openings and corners of  Franks Tract, Sherman Island, Midreds Island etc. Get out early or stay out late. Throw nothing but   topwater. Say a bone super spook or old school pencil popper. Have money burning a hole in your pocket?  Check out Delta Wood Bombers hand painted and carved baits for serious bling. Learn how to walk the dog which can be challenging in a yak. Hold on to your rod...

The savagery, the horror you will witness if you can find schooling fish. That shit is crack.
See you out there.

i agree the shit is crack.I'm sweating just thinking about topwater stripers.I throw 17# mono in open water but around cover yes 50#powerpro otherwise kiss your lure good by.my go to color chartreuse with nickel insert but another good one is chartreuse white.I like using a 7' mh baitcaster setup.the shorter rod makes it easier to walk the spook, well for me anyway. Good luck and dont let that first blowup poop your pants
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

I use a med weight spinning rod with 15# braid for topwater or 50# braid for trolling.  After getting a friend involved that fly fishes and seeing his success, I picked up an 8wt rod that I'll use to throw 5"+ clousers too.

Top water striper fishing sounds awesome, never knew they could be caught like that.  Do buzz baits and prop baits also work?

In the delta for stripers you need to find current. Find current, you have a place to start. Find a pump that's on and you find the water coming outa those pipes and you are golden.
And drop a few bucks and get a DeltaWoodBomber. You will not regret it. And if you do, then put it in the classifieds. It will get picked up quickly.

Bucktail, rattle traps, live shad or bullheads has always worked for me. Definitely find current or creek that flows to a larger water system .

For clarification, I'm asking where to fish and how to fish for stripers. Thanks for any help.
