First time out on my new Hobie Outback and loved it. Caught a lot of dinks but better than getting skunked.

Very nice. The CRP is one of my favorite places to paddle. Thanks for the report.

Where do you launch from?  I haven't been there in years and can not remember.  I remember there use to be a paved place with a bathroom and information station and a nice concrete path to the water.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

That's where I launch. They have a nice dock at the end of the concrete path.

Correct. Park close to the restroom and the path is right there. Just be aware that the volunteers do not unlock the gate on a set schedule. It is a guess as when they will show ul and unlock the gate to the parking lot.

You can take Twin Cities off I5. Then south on Franklin blvd.

Does anyone know if there are salmon and/or trout in the Cosumnes preserve?  One of the reasons I got my kayak was because I thought I could fish for salmon in there.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

I knew it was somewhere on the 5 south of Elk Grove, thanks.  It has been like 10 years since I have been there.  Might fish it on Sunday.

I went South East on Mokelumne and it is calm and peaceful.  Have not tried the Consumnes River. Total trip on the Mok was about 6 miles.
