We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

Anybody have space for me and my van? Would like to try and make this but haven't found A spot yet.  :smt009
Check the camping thread Andy....
So I'm planning on staying up for the weekend anybody have room for me and my teardrop???
There are spots about 6 miles down the road at Gualala campground, I believe at this point it is first come first serve...
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Getting my rig ready.  Whipped up a quick rack for the truck this past weekend.  Not 100% finished but I'll use this trip as it's shakedown.  Just mounted the Tepui while at lunch at work.  Might have to piss the wife off tonight just so I can give it a try early :smt002

Nice!  I have one of those tri-fold, laminated ID charts & I used a label maker to mark the 'No-Go' fish & specific size/quan requirements.  Lookin' good!

Hey Joe,

Gonna try to dive at least once while I'm up there. Also gonna try to get Skylar her 1st abalone. Thinking we are going to shore dive.
Sounds good James! Would love to be part of the experience. Dive gear all ready. Did you get fins?

Thanks!  :smt006

A nice, firm rack is all that is needed to pitch a good tent  :smt005

Steel ...  Had about 140 feet of new 1.5 x 1.5 steel square tubing so I used some of that.  Welded around all edges & then ground either flat or cove base.  Shot a little self-etching primer on the finished weld areas to protect it for now.  Other parts I recycled from an old rack I had here waiting to be hauled to the scrap yard.  Cut it apart & used a few pieces here & there.  Not the most beautiful but sturdy!  Still have a little more welding & accessories to put on it as well as paint.  Want some LED lighting, maybe some convertible racks on the side for kayaks or what not & I plan to cut it into 2 pieces so the back half /w 6 uprights can be removed leaving a "headache" rack on the truck at all times.  Don't REALLY love the 6 aluminum clamps holding it on the truck bed but I didn't want to drill thru the bed top & bed liner either so ....  It feels secure though!  I can feel a different in the stiffness of my truck while driving with it on there.  With the rear air bags inflated firm & this rack, that rear end feels solid as can be.

Built the rack just for this trip but I'll keep it around afterwards for other uses.  After this trip, the Tepui will come off & get mounted on my "Project X" camping trailer that has yet to be seen by the masses.  I know of a couple guys on here who have come to take a peak under the skirt to see it in person :smt002
