Finally got around to posting some videos from halibut season. Good examples of the shark hook method working well and one not too smooth.

It is a large shark hook spliced to 3/8 rope then attached to a buoy. I have since changed out to the round style over the crab trap shape.

I really like the shark hook method and will most likely make another with a short 3 foot leash and small float to keep it from sinking if I drop it.
A decently strong person can hang on to the rope and wear a fish out boat side with out much trouble. Plus I don't like a lot of extra rope on the deck.
