Live today for tomorrow's sake.
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Very cool video! Imagine if you were paddling and that started happening around you.

Thanks for the link Burong Isda.  Those are Manta Rays not Bat Rays.

Not quite, although they are in the same family. From the article:

Mobulas are very common in the Sea of Cortez. If you look out into the horizon you can see them doing back flips.......usually 3 in a row..........."Manta Law" as a panguero once told me.

A few years ago I saw a school several football fields long and wide off of Medano Beach in Cabo. The Mobulas were jumping and flipping for a couple of hours non stop. I called a local buddy on my cell to come over and take a look at the amazing site I was witnessing.

He said "yeah I know they've been doing that all week long" sure enough the next day they were at it again  :smt007

Probably related to mating or migrating  :smt102

I've seen this before!
One of the crazies thing I've even seen.
While surfing Zippers in Cabo de San Jose Baja, all of a sudden about a 100 yards away Rays just started jumping/flying in the air out of no way.

My buddy even ended up getting a flying Manta Ray tattoo in Cabo San Lucas before we left.

Got to see that in person when I fished down in La Paz.  What an awesome sight it was.  You could hear the water being slapped.  Another cool thing they do is cruise just below the surface with each tip sticking out of the water, looks like a pair of sharks cruising.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!
