I'm looking for a lightweight kayak trailer.  I need something lightweight and small enough not to create a storage problem for me.  I only need to haul one kayak and maybe some sort of gear box.  The Yakima and Malone trailers look great but they're more than my budget will allow.  The Yakima ones with motorcycle wheels look like exactly what I need.  Anybody have a used one for sale?

Yakhopper had his sitting on here for what seemed like an eternity before it sold over the weekend.  I surmise that it was more than you're looking for?

I bought one light trailer years ago and let my friend Raul use it.  Let me see if I can get a hold of him and you can keep it for me  :smt003

I also built one from a harbor freight 4x4 trailer, and a used Thule rack. Total cost including the extended tongue was about 400 or so.

I have been meaning to take pics of the thing for at least a year now!

Took the old tongue off, brought it to the local blacksmith guy (metal smith whatever you call 'em), said "i need one of these but 9 feet long"
Few days later i picked it up and bolted it on.

He used 2" box for half, with a 1.5" section for the other half- bolted together. I can remove it, with four bolts and put on the original if i want within about 10 min.

Thanks guys.  I bought a jet ski trailer today and I think it's going to be the perfect solution for me.
