Thinking of going out Friday morning. We can launch at my private ramp near the MTZ slough. I normally fish around that area for sturgeon, but i'm down to paddle wherever. Not very experienced, so if you can give tips along the way cool.

I would love to launch from your secret spot sometime! Too bad I can't make it out on Friday but would be interested in a different time. Where is your launch at? Just curious, I would love to find some other launch then Beldings or the side of the road. Good Luck!

A little confused now. I swear google said that slough was Montezuma, now it says nurse. Are they the same thing...?

Wow your launch is on the striper highway!
Have you thrown Topwater around that area?

What's a topwater? Hahaha....

All I do, (or used to do, i'm tired of striper...) is thread a good sized split tail onto a frog hook and throw it off the dock and wait. Last one was 30# 40"

I couldn't get the morning off from work.  Some other time though.  I live in Fairfield and really want to find someone to explore Monte with me in a kayak. I used to fish Monte a lot in my Fishrite.  I want to troll or drift for stripers.

K. Kinda bummed anyway.  Apparently the ghost shrimp factories were suspended. Can't find them anywhere

Wow!!!! that launch ramp location is great for sturgeon and stripers ar certain times of the year.  Really tricky waters and currents but great possibilities.

I just looked and for some reason Google Maps is calling that Nurse slough, but it IS the east end of Montezuma slough. Just a ways west of you launch spot.
