Back to the topic of Southeast Alaska - here's a link to Forest Service rental cabins in the Tongass National Forest. From the looks of it, this is what the Ketchikan crew stayed in. And my buddy and I stayed in the Piper Island cabin near Sitka. Most highly recommended for kayakers in SE!

We stayed at the Troller's Cove cabin on Prince of Whales Island.  Perfect for 4, a bit cozy for 6.  :3some:
