thanks guys the surgery went well, I was in the hospital all day though for a three hour surgery.  1 plate and six screws later and it hurts way worse than when I broke it.   but I've got enough meds to put a horse to sleep.

Ouch!  Heal quickly. By now your body knows how.

I have a broken elbow and with one a paddle is ok for awhile. But with two broken elbows Hobie or other pedal yak for sure. I also hope you didn't enjoy bowling. I haven't straightened my arm in over 10 yrs. Good luck sorry you joined our club.
