Yeah it was FAC at 615 when I arrived. Loaded up and waited for someone to show up.  At 6:50 I headed to the beach and talked to triangle. He was heading to the hotel w his buds. I paddled out to the can and had one kelp then 3 other guys. Nicks kayak and don appeared. Shortly thereafter I had a nice take down on a iron jig. W squid tip and my line started peeling off good strong head shakes.  Thinking halibut ? Nfw! Then he gave up and came right up into the net. Then he went ballistic. 30.5inch. Ling Don and Steve got some shots of it I hope. :-). Got a couple other small Lings a couple kelpies and a small sanddab.  Called it and let the wind blows us back w some easy paddling.

Sorry might be a silly question. What species you targeting/what bait?

No prob Dave w I  was targeting rock cod/lingcod. Using a shrimp fly on a dropper loop and a pline iron jig w thrice frozen squid on the tips. In 100 ft or so of water. Bouncing the bottom. I was getting bit nearly every time I dropped but thy must have all been too small to get their lips Around it. I also tried a lil kelpie for a while to no avail.

well nice reports

My Buddy Mitch came with his friend and they and Me and my friend stopped to locate octopus ...finding none we went over to the buoy's by hotel, where Mitch got two really nice lings -his first ever on a kayak which was great-they messed around and the bite died down after a few more rockys...my buddy had to leave so I tried to troll some on the way back...located a nice school of rocks on my way back in--- high wind and swell by then---1 ish----sailboat race camein raced around right on top of me and in the middle of the swell and wind and boats I got ten rocks in ten drop/drift/reset... and one really fat blue ling 21-1/2" so sad , I really wanted a ling  :smt010...a couple more little lings and then my tenth rock put an end to my fun...time to go find Mitch and my other yak and go home....it felt like I could have caught 20 more...they were hitting anchovies on every drop as I left....

It was too Bad we did not get over to the Red can to meet Jeff and the others...got to check in a few times...My buddy tipped and had a yard sale in my other kayak not long after launching....so we got stalled as he reset everything...

nice to meet Lost Anchovie out there---- heard he did well...

hope to get over by you guys next time and thanks for checking in today Jeff
