Just wanted to throw out some camping options if you are planning to come to the event this year.

You got Sunset State Park campground which, if it is isn't booked solid will be very soon. I checked resrve america, according to them, there is two standard, one standard(full) and 46 tent sites available. Not sure if i trust that so i would hurry and get a spot reserved

http://www.reserveamerica.com/unifSearchResults.do

There is also a group camp that is still available at the end of Cape Arago Hwy. It will hold 25 people and 6 vehicles  believe, but not suitable for travel trailers or motorhomes. There is no minumum amount of people to stay here, so if you have a few people that can get together this would be a cost effective way to go. There is no running water, just a couple chemical toilets, fire ring and a few picnic tables. Not resrvable at rseerve america

http://www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=reserve.dsp_reserve

There is Bastendorff County Park which is probably getting full also. I just checked and it shows spots available on the website for any type of camping vehicle but i would hurry and reserve something.

http://www.co.coos.or.us/Departments/CoosCountyParks/Bastendorff.aspx

Both  Sunset and Bastendorff are very close to the launch site.

If you want some dual purpose fun there is Riley Ranch. This campground is a few miles north out of town and is a ATV park. So if you want to ride one day while your here this might be a choice for you. It is a 20 minute drive to the launch though.

http://www.co.coos.or.us/Departments/CoosCountyParks/RileyRanch.aspx

If you miss out on a reservation you can stay in the parking lot at the south jetty off Bastendorff rd.  for one night but can probably sneak an extra night in there. I have seen people stay there for a week...There is a bathroom there and that's it. This would be good for those that are self contained or vehicle sleepers.

Think that covers most of the options for camping here within 20 minutes of Sunset Bay.

Hope to see you here, it's gonna be fun!

Just thought i would bump this up. There are still spots avalable at Sunset and Bastendorff campgrounds according to the respective websites. If your planning on coming up don't wait until the last minute to get a camp spot or they might be gone.

PM me if your gonna come and you can pay the $30 dollar entry fee to my paypal at [email protected]. would like to get the entry fees paid early but you can also pay the morning of the tourny if that is easier for you.

Got alot of great prizes and we will be making a nice donation to Heroes on the water! Hope to see some of you guys up here...

I'm going to try and make it.  If I can coordinate it with a family visit, I'll be there.  Which is the best campground for a small RV.  Are hook-ups available?

I did a quick search for a 24 foot rv and there is only 2 spots available at Sunset Bay and more at Bastendorff for arriving the 22nd for two days. Sunset Bay is literally 3-5 minutes away from the launch depending how far you are in the campground. If you are at Bastendorff you will have to drive about 2 minutes farther.... :smt001

Both have hook-ups available. Sunset is bigger and maybe a bit nicer but both are good. Don't wait too long to reserve a spot
