Your about 5years too late.I had them all.my buddy still is pretty heavy into it.I ran alot of the monster trucks like the tmaxx, thunder tiger ek4 I did alot of nitro cause I like the noise but all the new brushless Lipo powered vehicles are alot faster.they are fun but I dont have time and the patient for it anymore
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

RC cars are boring.  Only 2D.  Go for RC Planes and 3D.    The landing is the fun part.  :)

Raced buggies and t-maxx trucks. Got hired with that and got into helicopters. Huge rush flying one, never went 3d just had fun. Just picked up a AR Drone 2.0, it flies with my iPhone. Lot of fun, has two cameras. But spend most of my time fishing so heli's have been sitting for a year or so.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

I built up an RC10 back in 1987, raced it a few times in San Jose.  Hadvover $800 invested in aftermarket goodies for it, Titanium turnbuckles, SS ball bearings, tub kit, oil filled shocks, pretty much every aftermarket upgrade for it I got.  Spare tire set, gears, motors list goes on.  Thing sat in storage for way to many years, got tired of moving out of my way, lost interest sold it at a flee market.

One of those hobbies I wish I could do, but would actually rather settle for a friend that does it so I can break his stuff  :smt044

Been there & done that with electric cars, 4x4 trucks, gas trucks, airplanes, heli's, electric & gas boats & even a sailboat.  I find myself wanting another one but I slap myself across the face as hard as I can, pull out a few hundred dollars from my wallet, lay it on the ground, piss on it & walk away.  That has cured me of the madness for now.

I started with a Tamiya HotShot 2 in 1986 (was a Christmas present from my Dad) and ended the hobby with a Miniature Aircraft Ion-X and a Fury Extreme in 2004. I still have most of the stuff - around 4 planes, 5 helis, and a bunch of cars and trucks sitting in the garage. This hobby takes up lots of time and money. It was a good hobby when I was single and had my money all to myself. Nowadays, time and money is better spent with the kids.  :smt003
