I could do sunday if it was changed to then, but I say let it roll Saturday and those who want to launch go for it.  If it gets cancelled then those who make the drive are eligible for the grand prize.  Rescheduling for another month could be difficult for folks driving from 5hours or more like myself and Adrienne. 

I plan on being there Saturday morning and holding out hope it's not as bad as the forecast. I'll be ready to fish if you give the go ahead Ruben and if you call it then that's fine too.

Whatever you decide to do Ruben I will support your decision.

Same plan here unless notified earlier.  Either way we are driving south and fishing freshwater this weekend anyways.  Time to give those folks at the top of AOTY a run for their money.  I don't know what I was thinking when I caught a 20" large mouth, a dink spot and the surf perch I caught in the winter by not putting on AOTY just for the extra species as well as my CCKF AOTY which would have me at 8 species and near the top of the scorecard.  Anyways,  I do see a Santa Cruz Raptor in my future. 

I am fine with whatever Ruben decides. Laura and I will be at Ocean Cove in the 5th wheel for the weekend, so if I don't get to fish, I still WON!!!! Ruben, you can't make everybody happy all of the time; just do what you want/think is best. Come by OC, look for the "Nemo" flag and stop by for a beer/wine or soda

Ill come either way, I got full wetsuit, lifejacket and lots of ocean swimming experience just never by accident but if it is cancelled it would be nice if potluck/ raffle happened before 3;30. If sunday Ill be there as well. My .02 cents

Not that my dog is in the fight anymore, but IF its postponed to a better WX weekend... I would probably show up.

I don't think I'll show. Was really looking forward to it. Sinuses have me feeling down the last couple days. Not sure I'm up for 2.5 hours drive plus a rodeo. Launch should be OK but no wind/wave block once you get out. Get a partner or better two partners and hang together. People are going to splash.  Layer up under those drysuits. I have faith that Ruben will make the correct call at launch time. Hope it lays down and you all have an awesome time!

I don't need the refund (I'm sure it will be used for a good cause anyways).
I just thought it would be nice to know little bit ahead of time, but whatever you decide is fine w/ me.
I know it's a lot of work to put an event together and thank you so much for doing this.

I'm already loaded up, leaving from work Friday.

I'll be on the beach at 0500 unless this thing gets cancelled before 1600 on Friday.  In that case I'm still coming and I'll probably camp at OC and take what ever fishing opportunity mother nature may provide.

1.) The tournament is not canceled as of yet and may not be. If the tournament is canceled (and ONLY if it is) and you do not wish to participate in the raffle you will be eligible for a full credit towards entry in the next Simply Fishing Tournament.
2.) This is coastal kayak fishing, I can not accurately make the call to cancel until I am there, on the day, to see the actual fishing conditions at the time of launch. That's fishing.
3.) IF it is necessary to cancel the competition, only the paid entrants will be eligible to win the grand prize. One ticket per entry.
4.) Just as with a kayaking fishing competition, you have to play to get the pay (must be present to win)

Thanks for the inspirational Picture PecaDoNo. I was on the fence about this trip till I saw this picture . looks very fishable  doesn't take awhole lot to convince me to go fishing . I'm in!!! see you all there
