But if it is very weak charger it might not do as well charging a larger battery.

A 6 amp charger for a 7-8amp battery seems like a bit to much

The op was asking about a fish finder battery not a marine battery.

Note that most typically use SLA type batteries that are NOT "car, small truck, motorcycle, and lawn tractor  lead-acid and AGM battery types".  The above is not applicable.

Just get a 1.5 amp smart charger and a 7ah battery and call it good. Done, end of debate.
