here's a little secret.  shhhhhhhhh.......the fishing is usually pretty good in this area at this time.  some BIG STUFF brought in recently.

And this year just might shape up to be a salmon or wsb year to boot!

It's usually in the end of July / beginning of August. Hopefully not Aug 2 or 3 because I'll be in Vegas...

MBK  has chosen September 27 for the Derby.  Details should be on their website soon.  But 9/27 is firm.

Recently registered with C.C.K. Hoping to fish south of the Monterey Bay this year. Avila Beach. Attended the Cambria Slam. Great area. Awesome landing with at least a 30 foot surge coming in. Well, it is the same weekend as Ruben's Simply Fishing, so I will be further north at Timbr Cove.   really wanted to fish the MBK derby. Bummed.

Wow two events in one day. How does one choose? My guess is keep it "simple". Wish I could make both.

Oops sorry Ruben.  they haven't posted yet.  and it's a long way off. I'll see if I can get it switched to that 1st weekend in October or even the 2d in Oct?

Yes Mr Bushy. Would be great if different weekend then Cambria. Either way. Will be there for the local M.B.K.D. . Heard tell of (mystery ) bite as well.  Maybe try my luck tomorrow is wind settles. 
Damm, just checked calendar. that would actually be the weekend of the 5th. My annual trout derby with my Pops.
