ATD,

Is there any way to post the roster in a different format where the teams names are grouped together so we could easily see who's on what team?

Check PDF at bottom of first post.

WOW! That was fast.  :smt044
Thanks.

I don't understand why the team format is mandatory. With 200plus kayaks on the water, you couldn't fish alone if you tried. It seems to add another layer of beurocracy and hassle. I think it should be optional.
Maybe you could implement that at the tournament you host.
Or i could just speak my opinion here and guys like you can get pissy about it.  Thats cool too.

With over 200 guys out there no one would notice if you got caught in a current, sucked south and lost in the fog bank.  With the team format at least someone from your team will be keeping track of you.  This way Eric is not worrying that everyone makes it back.  It's really only for safety and bragging rights.

sucked south and lost in the fog. Sounds like something on the menu at the mustang ranch. Well, I  certainly agree that you can never be to safe.

I got a little chuckle out of this exchange.   :smt005

Jack - you're a great guy and I consider you a friend for sure, but you definitely have an edge.  Good for you - don't change a thing.   :smt001

Credit to the Clayman - that's the closest to pissy I've ever seen you get, Chris!  I appreciate the support, and I would also point out that Clayman is one of the nicest guys (and obviously one of the best anglers and reporters) in this club.  Hands down.

We are all brothers.   :smt008

The team thing is all about safety.  Jack's suggestion to make it optional is redundant with reality.  That is to say, I require that people fish in teams, but I don't enforce it - do what you want, and if you die alone in that fog bank or run up on the rocks when no one's there to help I'll explain to your family that you were supposed to have stayed with your team.

The truth is clear.  Based on all GS events so far I KNOW it is easy to be alone out on the water.  Even with 200 yaks out there!

Great job with this, Adam.   :smt001

I am looking for a team. On the salt I have ever gone for rockfish on my kayak. I am just going for the salt therapy with no delusions on winning anything.
“I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.”

Anyone can win.  AOTD takes a huge amount of dedication and focus, but biggest lingcod could go to anyone out there.  With a name like 707eric I am a believer - get em!   :smt003

Thanks for the offers guys but i am actually already on a team. I was just having issues figuring out how to register my team. I am team hogstalker
with guitarzan, dabruddah, and perhaps my friend apex40 if he can figure out how to sign up for the team. He is pretty electronically challenged himself.

No hard feelings Jack.  I guess I didn't understand where you thought the "hassle" and "bureaucracy" was coming from with a team format that emphasizes safety as the number one priority.  Being a "millennial", computers and electronics are practically second nature to me and I forget that it's not like that for everyone else.
