external gps unit only help

   Researching external antennae gps units only and i would like any help w past and pesent experiences you've had w a garmin or a lowrance.   I have an 18 foot trophy that i will be adding unit to.  i know its a chevy ford debate but any info would be appreciated… JB

Feel free to PM me & I can give you all the info you may or may not want to know on Lowrance.  I have an external GPS antenna on my Lowrance on my 18' boat.
