Finally got to make an attempt to repair the crack in the scupper on my OK-T13..I bought a plastic welding kit @ Harbor Freight on Sat.in Santa Rosa . however i got chicken never having done plastic welding and especially since the crack is in a " tight" spot I decided to go with 3M 5200 .

I sanded the interior around the scupper, cleaned it off with mineral spirits and applied the 5200 wearing rubber gloves, working it the entire length of the scupper..I could see the material oozing out of the crack from inside the hull to the exterior of the scupper.

Then worked the material from the exterior of the scupper from top to bottom the entire length of the scupper.

I`d post pics buuuut...since I  killed my phone at Lake Sonoma( gonna take my wife's phone and post pics later today)....any how...i`m going to let the material cure a few days do another leak test to see if it holds, might even add more 5200 and another piece of plastic inside the scupper ?

Input is welcome and appreciated and a special Thanks to Ravensblack for his input and working on my trailer...

posted pics ..went and looked this morning..wow that stuff is runny...and still tacky  excuse the mess but here`s the pics...

I guess the other option was to use heat gun to melt plastic. I have a gun but wouldn't know what temp to start at.

Hope it works for you.

Did the 3M 5200 work?  Where did you get it?

FWIW I kept some circles of cut out material left over when I added/cut holes for flush mount holders on one of my cobras...later I took took my plumbers torch and tried melting those as well and some extra tin snipped shavings from cleaning up the circle shapes to see how they will  heat up and then cool again ...if they would be brittle or no good...it was perfect after melting and cooling again
and then on another cobra xl model that I bought used with hiddencrack in the scupper....I took the little H-depot solder torch kit/plumbers torch/blue bottle sized one.....and with a 1 inch putty knife at the ready -put the tip of the flame at the right angle and distance into the scupper pointed at the crack side and when the scupper was nice and slippery on the surface and melted around the crack a bit ...slid the putty knife in and just mixed the top of the material in swirls and  then let it cool....then I heated it again a few times mixing and smoothing and moving fresh drips over the spot and mixing smoothing again...when cooled it was all new and the crack was now gone and returned to bonded-mixed - smooth material....it took ten minutes and was free....I was glad I had an old kayak that need fixing to learn on for my first time...later I  heated and smoothed the scratches on the bottom of my two fish and dives as well as heating and returning to correct lines,a nice gouge on the edge of one yak.....not all kayaks materials are the same ...but for Cobras This worked great for me...now I save any cut out scraps and have extra pieces for scratch filling and repairs

I tried to fix mine unsuccessfully a dozen times untill i realized i had five other scuppers and this one was the one under the seat, i just plugged it up and have had no problems with it.  A ping pong ball fit in the top, I gooped it in, and cut a round plastic bigger than the bottom, gooped it, done. It sucks looking in your hatch at five gallons of water sloshing around and your in the fog....

That gives me pause just imagining it. Great idea to just plug the cracked one under the seat!
