FYI... I talked to Chuck last week and agreed to do a Kayak Sturgeon Fishing clinic as well as the Paddlefest.

So far it's planned for 2:00 ish on Saturdary after Allen's "Basics of Kayak Fishing" clinic.

I intend to disclose everything I've learned about the subject... so if you want to learn, come on by.

Its not too late to volunteer to help out at Paddlefest.  They had 4 hour shifts at various times on Sat and Sun and I just got confirmation for a Sunday time slot.   I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing but it could be registration, checking wrist bands, passing out PFDs or helping presenters start classes.

The reward is one free admission for both days...that's worth $80.  You can test drive kayaks and attend clinics when you're not helping out.  Or you can hang out at the NCKA booth and share the wealth.  On Sat evening there's a thank you gathering, light buffet meal after closing.

Why is NCKA not listed on the website?  Weird.

Are our clinics advertised someplace?

Will any of the exhibitors at the Bay Area Paddlefest be selling stuff? Are there any deals to be had? Or, is the emphasis on passing along information, demonstrations and test drives? Never gone before so just wondering.

I'm pretty sure that there will be no "selling".

To those who are attending the clinics, you might want to bring your portable chairs - we may not have enough for every one to use. YOu can leave you chairs with us at the NCKA booth after the class so you can freely walk around and test paddle some yaks...just remember to pick 'em up at the end of the day.

I'll be running an on-the-water clinic on how to catch large sharks ...  the show lasts until 11:30 AM on Saturday.  :smt003

I think there is no official selling going on.  But do make it a point to ask at the booths if you see something you like/need.  Being the end of the show season, there may be some behind the scenes deals on demo stock.

the vendors are just there to show off their new stuff. I was there last year and didn't spend a single dime.....and that's hard for me to do  :smt002
