Bait Shop in San Jose

So I was googling around for minnows near me in San Jose and stumbled upon Fishery Supply on Story Road.  I went in on Saturday and was surprised at what they had on hand, so thought I would share.

Yes, they had minnows, but they also had bullheads, mudsuckers, pileworms, bloodworms, crawlers, red worms, other worms, live grass shrimp, live ghost shrimp, live sand shrimp, all the frozen baits, and on and on and on.  In fact, they were one of the best stocked bait shops I've been in.  I didn't check at the time, but I'm hoping they carry shiners too.  I have this urge to drop one down for a Santa Cruz butt.

Yes, they have a gnarly live bait supply.  Probably one of few ways to  stay competitive once BPS opens its megastore in SoSanJo.

I have been going to this shop for atleast 15 years. I go there for everything . Live bait when I need it. Weights, hooks,line. They sell fishing supply cheaper then a lot of stores. I highly recommend this place. 

They do carry minnows! More often than mudsuckers I believe. Its my go to place because I live so close I get lost in fishery supply. Their customer service might not be great due to the language barrier but I have had nothing but positive experiences from them! Speaking their native language helps too haha

That's the place to find odd's and ends for sure!  If I'm a hunting for something and cant find it at FW, I'll usually find it there.

I can't believe this shop is <3 miles from home and I never knew about it.  BTW, it's not much of a bass fisherman's shop (limited supply of plastics, etc.), but yeah, there is a lot of stuff crammed into that small shop.

Had that experience once a few years back, but the lady was on hand to charge me the correct price. I did not remember seeing shiners available during my one visit which was more one of curiosity than looking for any particular stuff.

Another place for live bait in the South Bay Area is Coyote Bait & Tackle just north of Morgan Hill.

Yeah, minnows.  I don't think they have salt water live bait tanks.

Been living under a rock or just don't venture into east san jose?   

I've never seen shiners there.  I do a majority of my shopping at fishery; mostly just the basics, line/fluoro, bait, terminal tackle, lead, bottom fish and some salmon stuff.  One of the cool things about the place is that they have some crazy random stuff that pops up in there if you take the time to dig through the packed isles.   

Never had a problem with the wife not being at the register, hubby is usually too consumed with video poker, blackjack or college sports.
