Some folks fish out of SIKs, but by far most folks use SOTs.  There are a number of safety considerations for fishing in the salt, both bay and ocean.  C'mon out to the seminar, Tote will provide a thorough overview of these safety issues, will be a good primer on the issues you should consider before venturing into the salt.  Plus you can meet a bunch of the local kayak anglers and get alot of info. Hope to see you.

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Halibut and salmon fishing are off to great starts this year!  And rockfish/lingcod season is fast approaching.  We've got a great line-up of speakers to cover all you need to know to get in on the fun.  Seminar is this Thursday at California Canoe and Kayak in Rancho Cordova.

BBQ and potluck start at 6 PM, seminar starts at 7 PM.  Hope to see a good number of folks and it's a great opportunity for newer members to meet a bunch of locals and pick-up a ton of info on kayak fishing for these challenging species.  If you haven't already, please RSVP on this thread or send me PM if you plan to attend so we can finalize the BBQ plans.

Take Care - John
