Caught a few perch today but only kept three. Steaming tonight! Started Half Moon Bay State beach did well using plastic worm. Decided to drive south to San Gregorio State Beach. On my second cast into the surf my reel starts unloading. My thought striper. 8 lb test so off to play we went. Took a good 5 min. Of heart thumping excitement. Finnally gaining on fish a Steelhead on the beach. Approx. 31l2 lbs. But what a fun fight.

Nice haul Frank!

I've never thought about reeling a steelie in from the beach. That's a nice one.

Thanks for the report.

Sweet perch & awesome bycatch
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.
