Is the bottom of your tent cots insulated?

-Allen

there is a 1/4in thick peace of foam.

The older tent cots did not have the foam, it makes it way more comfortable if you add your own pad, a Thermarest type pad works great.

Get a thermarest type mattress to keep out the cold.  I use one on my regular cot all the time.
So long and thanks for all the fish!!!

John

See yakuza's post, #10.

Jack's Plastic Paco Pad is the best investment I made for sleep comfort, yeah, real expensive but pretty much indestructable and last a lifetime plus made in USA. Plus if you do get a leak it still works becuase there is foam inside, leaks easily repaired with aquaseal. Rafters are big on these pads.  If you camp out alot get something good to sleep on....they're also really fun in class II rapids.

Nate and Fuzz used them at Crabfest, seemed to do okay with them; they did complain about the condensation when I smacked the top of the tent! :smt044

National guard uses them for the single cots, they work okay.  Pros, and Con's it keeps you out of the weather, kind of , you really need to weather proof the seams.  Keeps the bugs out, but so did the old mosquito netting.  In colder weather you would be better off using ground pads than a cot, as wind passes under the cot it sucks the heat out of you.

LOVE mine. Yes, its heavy and they are a bit pricy. But I use it when car camping and when I am solo. I have set it up one handed while holding a beer. I have been in a 3 day downpour (Shelter 3 yrs ago. Lake Sonoma three weeks ago) and stayed bone dry. The fact that you are off the ground is great. 5 min set up and take down. Easy to dry when you get home, never have any condensation issues and if needed can be set up in the bed of my truck. Or moved around the campsite if needed. I'd buy again in a heartbeat. I got the "oversize" one as I am 6'3" and a little leg room is nice. The cool think is you can collapse the tent and its a lounge chair!

What he said.  Mine is from Cabelas.
