Had a blast!

Weather was so shitty on Saturday morning I started drinking beer and was passed out in my truck by noon.

Epic times,
Josh

Always a great time fish-n-chillin' with the A-Hulls and other familiar mugs.  With the crazy 28-35mph gusts on Saturday we were doing way more chillin' than fishin', but no one was complaining.  I'm still thinking about Kiel's BBQ pork butt, Jason's papaitan, the poki, and other delicacies that the guys brought and shared.  Thanks brothers!

Here's a pic that Beerhunter took of the two stripers (19" and 22") I caught Sunday while slow trolling minnows near the power lines.  I've never caught any fish at the O'Neil Forebay over 26", so it's amazing to think that the CA state record striper and many other monster stripers have come out of that small body of water.  But... I'm sure there are still few lunkers still roaming around there.  They're probably feeding on all of the little diaper stripers. :smt003

Next time I think we should be more clear on the rules at the Forebay Fish-N-Chill.

The Fishing is optional but the Chilling with the A-Hulls is NOT!  :smt003

Really the whole weekend was just plain awesome!  The people that did get out and fish, for the most part all caught fish!  Even me, my first time OTW for 2014 got a diaper striper on my secret bait (nightcrawlers) while watching Dustin slay them one by one with minnows. Heck we barely drifted away from the camp and had our first nibbles and fish on!

So there was not much rain like others had said, too much wind on Saturday, but FUN was had on all three days!  We were out of the wind at least by creating the A-Hulls Fort out of the gazebo, which was way more awesome than the pictures can show.  The more you ate and drank and partied, the more fun you had!  :smt044  And with such great dishes to eat, and a whole keg to drink, you really couldn't help but enjoy hanging out! I've never had so much tripe in my life  :smt044

Thanks again guys for putting on such a great event. Even though I got there late Saturday night, what a blast. Great group of guys, great partying and good times!!! With such a good time going on. Who had time to really be bothered by the weather. Of course I wasn't there when it was raining. :smt003. But by judging the spirits and good times. There was no stopping this Crew and proud to say I am associated with you all!!!! :smt003. Good to meet up with some of the Monterey boys as well. See ya all on the water soon. :smt004

Thanks for the pics fellas…

Have to say my favorite is the one of Andy with the keg filling a drink…

The intense focus, the intent of the perfect pour and attention to detail fully captured….

Or the boys on both sides of you. Surely, Sickfisher would be OK on the water on Sunday?  :smt005 :smt010
