I put the word out in my school asking for volunteers to work.  We give the students (most are 21-29 years old) extra points towards there grade for doing volunteer work.  These are young Coast Guard men and women's I if we have some show up they will be respectful, hardworking, and trust worthy.  I should know by tomorrow.

I have a 125 gallon cooler I can pack with ice and a few cases of water, call out three, add that to the total, I can station that at the launch. I also have a roll of contractor trash bags that I will have for recycle/trash etc.

Piski,
....If you would take over Launch Command and get volunteers to help you, or we will assign at the show that would be great….

Launch Command it is. Anyone who would like to commit to a couple hours or more, pls pm me. If we have enough people, we can do shifts.

Gen

Thanks Piski and bob 2.0…

This position is the most demanding and need to be flexible and patient… Adapting, improvise and overcoming,,,

Ya never know what is coming your way and what you need to adapt too, all along, many more will be waiting to get out…

I'll give y'all an example of our first outing…

2 VA buses pull up to Kelsey Bass Ranch, it's chaos at the launch ramp.  Vets that are able bodied and just want to go, some with TBI's and "impulse" control problems. meaning they were demanding about getting on a yak, kind of like a child, not their fault, just where they are now, and all kinds of other things. I was at the launch ramp as I knew this had to right to make sure we were safe… I'm busier than a centipede at a toe counting contest, keeping my eye on 12 things at a time, all the while trying to give a vet right in front of me a paddle.

"here ya go.."  "Sir, here ya go, here's your paddle…"  Nothing   :smt102  I see something in the distance that needs my attention… I need to go, still this guy won't take the paddle..

I get frustrated… " IT'S RIGHT HERE!..."  The vet responds,  " I F#@#$@ Blind!!! "   :smt087

" Stop Everything!!!! "  wow that was a wake up call…  it will be challenging, but if you take your time, be flexible, everything will be fine, but we need people on deck here…

This is going to be a very dynamic and busy area

Can we get more info on where we're meeting?  Are we able to launch from the main ramp?  Is parking going to be OK? I am planning to bring the trailer if I have a place to park it.

I've never been there and will need Dan or someone who has been there to chime in on that

Get there early and parking will be fine. Worst case scenario just park on the street. I'm pretty sure we will have lots of parking.

So excited to see this all coming together. It's been incredibly busy here and I'm having a hard time keeping up with things on the thread, so if you have any questions please PM and I will check that at least once a day. Very exciting and encouraging! Thanks a ton guys!

I will have coolers & maybe a party tub.
Water will be iced as well as the gatorade.
Bringing cups for the gatorade also.
If others can bring water and ice to, that would be great.
We are going to need it for sure.

You are correct sir, but all in good fun…

wouldn't that be something if we had Gunnery Sergeant Hartman at the Helm…

Sure the Vets would love it!!!
