Lodi, June 8th, Thank a Wounded Warrior, Win a Camo Eddyline

Up in the Air which annual training I have to go this year the one in June (7-21) or July (dates escape me). 

The Lodi Gig is a couple short weeks away…

Here is a best guess on participants …

VA,,,  several PTSD, Therapy and Rehab clinics, (we will not know the severity of some of rehab spinal participants participants till they get there, and be ready to improvise…)

  estimated participants        35 to 40


Warrior Transition Unit, this agency is just that, "Transition" so vets are coming and going….  but I do believe we will see

                                          10 to 15

Word of mouth and past participants, especially after everyone we talked to yesterday

                                         40 to 50

NCKA volunteers are in the area of 20 right now, but I expect that to increase….


HeadWaters Volunteers, I have no Idea…..  ???     


I'm thinking we could easily see around 150 people at this event, quite possibly more as this heats up…

  KayakJack says "Bring em on!" for Breakfast…  he's gonna need help….      

  I'm not sure where Dan/ Headwaters is on kayaks, but my feeling is, we need more…

This is going to be a bit of chaos,  I'm not concern with getting the participants on the early bite for fish, not even sure how were outfitting the rods for fishing as I do not know Lake Lodi…

we do have around fifty poles….  not all are going to fish/kayak/ect…

This is more about celebrating what we do and give the troops a nice day on the water…  kayaks, paddle boards, whatever….

and signing waivers….

Lets start to chime in on who is going to be there, what ya might be bringing as this could be quite possibly the biggest HOW event ever… 

not that's what were shooting for, just the way this one worked out…

The drawing will be this day, 49 tickets sold so far….

I will start the list in the AM.

I'm in. i guess we will do breakfast tacos again. Eggs,linguica,peppers,onions,cheese and cilantro all folded into a warm crisp corn tortilla.We will also have granola bars and fresh fruit. I can also bring my 2 t-140s with paddles and pfds. We will have to assemble a good team for the galley. Where's that kid at? You know, the polite,smart,mini-fish genius kid that helped me at Hennessy?

I'm also bringing Olivia and possibly the family.  She's not a good helper but the rest of them are OK.

I'm working on this one.  Just have to clear it with Mom that there's nothing going on that weekend.  If we can be there we will!

Thanks for everyone for coming together. Props to Daleshark for taking the HOW Raffle boat to the Memorial Day Event on Sunday. It's nice to sell a few more tickets.

I've closed the boat house from Sunday June 8th and am Reserving all 50 kayaks and SUP's for the Veterans to use. I have also posted a note to the Lodi Paddle Club about the event. Last time they came through with a ton of support. Thanks for all the help on this one guys. We are looking forward to it.

I'll be there to help out and do what I can.

So are we planning to bring the yaks over to the boat house for launching?  I don't think I've been to the boat house yet.

The vets really liked that Eddyline…  also brought them to us like a month to light….   

I'm planning on coming. Not sure in what capacity though.... I'll fill in where needed... When should we get there?
