Plan A for Friday is Mill Creek.  We're planning to arrive 6am, rendevous in Castroville at 4am pending conditions.  Two weeks ago we had the place to ourselves on Saturday.  Company is most welcome.

I'd appreciate any advice on where to fish this area, my first attempt there wan't very lucky.

PM if you want to hook up.

Hey, Pete

Mill creek is a great place, the one and only time I was there I didn't do too well either. But a guy fishing next to me was using a purple jig and was catching just about everything. I used red, and white jigs. Didn't have anything close to purple. I did catch a nice cabazon with an Iron jig

We launched, and went out to the rocks just north on mill creek, fished around them and the kelp beds.

I'm working through this weekend, but I have next week off, I might try and go back there next week.

Have a great time, looking forward to your report.

When we did this trip with Chef he worked us south....ultimately a couple of miles before turning around.  We found LOTS O'Fish.  Good luck.

I've found that Lings & Rock fish go bonkers mostly for a "Dorado" colored fishtrap.  I've also had decent luck with lime/yellow flecked scampi's.  Have tried the white scampi's a few times to no avail.  Granted I've never fished Mill Creek or anywhere around there, but I'd be supprised if the "Dorado" fishtrap didn't get you wide open fishing.

Also, I don't know how other guys do it but I hit a spot, drop it 2-3 times & if it doesn't produce I move on.  Eventually I find the G-spot.

Good Luck,
PJ
