AOTY awards Potluck and Roll call thread

Now that I know valentines day is Friday not Sunday I am going to go. I don't know yet what I'll bring for the potluck.

Everyone remember.... There have been a lot of thefts out there.... Lock it or loose it...
Mark your Kayak on the inside in an inconspicuous location so you can Identify it if it runs away. As Kayaking is getting more and more popular. They are getting ripped and sold on CL. Easy fast cash and gone in 30 seconds... I use a stainless steel cable 13 ft long threw the scuppers, milk crate ect... to keep them secure. Had it made at a ship fitter Using sail boat rigging line. Tough and thin. Could it be cut, sure, but will they pick an easier target first. Yup....

Our cars should be safe at Wimpy's and the events center.  I was considering holding the fishing portion of the event at the meadows state park, but decided on Wimpy's because it is a safer place to park.

Nevertheless  I always lock my boat when I cartop.

Otherwise you get stuck helping me set up  .

Ash & I are not fishing, so we can come up a little early and help you set up, if needed.

Not really, I have BioBill and Daleshark hanging out early. And really all I did way pay for the hall and put together a slide show, so I don't have much else going on. I'm hoping Pole Pole is bringing the prizes, banners for sponsors, easy up etc. I will be there setting up tables and chairs.

With that said if there is anything else I can do or bring I'm happy to do it. Just happy to support Adam and the rest of the AOTY guys any way we can.

As far as the slide show goes, I got a few photos from participants but could sure use a lot more. I also put together slide shows for the top 3 Anglers of their virtual stringers. I also grabbed photos of the top 3 highest point fish caught. Should be a good time for sure. If you have a photo you would like added please send it to me.

I don't know anyone yet so hopefully someone will not mind if I fish along with them.  Anyone want to meet me at Wimpys?  I will be there at 6:30 a.m in a silver Toyota 4runner, green kayak, confused look.

My first introduction to the foundation of NCKA was at the 2011 AOTY and met alot of people that day; who are as close to me as family, including our dearly departed brother Mooch.

You wont regret going.....


BTW: anybody doing name tags???  I would, but I gotta make sure all your mail processed for Monday delivery ! Hey Dray, why don't you be in charge of making name tags? it will be a great way to get to know everyone!

Looks like I'm going to be able to make it.  Bringing a newbie "Boat Ballast" with me.  Not sure what I'll bring for the pot luck yet.  Maybe a growler of Sierra Navadre Narwhal if I don't drink it tomorrow first.   

Well I may not be able to make it... might head up the hill. Good luck to all!!!!!! The water is heavily stained to straight up muddy. Scouted confluence, wimpys, cross channel, Snodgrass at twin cities bridge. Cleanest water was by wimpys, about 1' vis.

I gonna bring some chicken for the potluck and some hot cups and some tea and hot chocolate so we can warm up after we get off the water.

I'll try to make it, didn't realize the potluck went so late.  Sundays are Henry sleep-over days so If I make it i'll be leaving early...
