I agree with Allen here, it straddles the line between kayak and sailboat as well as an AI does.

But does it straddle the line between fishing kayak and sailboat as well as an AI does?
I'd have to vote NO...
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

My sentiments also? Be nice to see it without all the rigging. How's it preform as a Kayak? Does it come in a tandem? Their pricing for a single is higher then the AI tandem.
I know the tandem AI is much faster then the single. But this with double sails differently pecks the interest.

Make no bones about it, this thing was not designed as a fishing kayak.  But you know what, one could say the same thing about the AI.  I mean, it wasn't even until last year that Hobie announce the AI as a "New Way to Fish".  Remember?

Absolutely.  Only way to know it is for someone to try!  I unfortunately can't justify it at that type of cost.

I'm kind of ignoring the cost for now.  They are in the middle of changing how they do production so I'm going to assume the pricing will change.  It will be priced to where it needs to in order to sell.

Love that spinnaker & choot design.  If the AI wasn't so "nose-in", I'd think about a spinnaker for it.

Looks very interesting, Allen. I wonder if the main sail automatically furls when the lines are released.

I'm going to predict that it sails upwind and reaches better than the AI based on the hull design and position of the mast. I researched them last year and they have a spreadsheet comparison between the Triax and AI on their website.

Am I the only one reminded of star trek when I look at it
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it
