I have an opportunity to demo the Triak some time later this month.

http://www.triaksports.com/

As I'm not really much of a sailor, I'm looking for a few of you kayak sailors to join.  I will be asking for feedback that may be incorporated into an article for KayakFishingMagazine.net.  Anyone interested?

Hmmm, That looks like a sail boat... The Island is pushing the boundary between kayak and sail boat. This one looks like it crosses the line and is designed to sail, not fish... IMHO... Looks cool, but will it be excluded from tournaments ect... :smt006 I see Kevin Costner swinging in the rigging....

my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

Hmmm ... does it look any more like a sailboat than the AI does?  What, in your opinion, crossed the line?

Duel sails. Too much rope and clutter for fishing.

You can take the spinnaker off and sail it with the single sail only.  Heck, you can take all the sails off, and the amas, and some may think it is more of a kayak than the adventure.

Seeing it broken down to the Kayak base might make a difference in opinion but the Amas look to be in a line fouling position and probably interfere with paddling. Stability without amas would be a good judge of fish-ability and design purpose... :smt003

As far as just plain cool goes, Yes really cool and it looks like the front sail furls/folds into the front sail tube by pulling a rope... Down wind scream machine I'm sure!!!! :smt007

Fully rigged, It does have way more of a sailboat feel than a fishing kayak feel, unlike my AI.  Even fully rigged, my AI feels like a fishing yak.  Partly because I can sit sideways, I have tramps & a few less lines to stow or work around.  As far as sailing is concerned, it looks WAY fun, fast, stable & seems to not have the nose diving problems of my AI.  I like than I can collapse my yak for trailering w/o taking it apart.

I agree with Allen here, it straddles the line between kayak and sailboat as well as an AI does.

But does it straddle the line between fishing kayak and sailboat as well as an AI does?
