I'm trying to take a friend that lives in Roseville fishing sometime in February at Folsom. I'm no off-road driving expert, and I don't much care for trudging through mud to launch/land. Are there any do-able launches left a Folsom? Or are they all mud walks and quicksand that will swallow my tires? I want him to have a good experience, you know how it is. Thanks fellas.

PS, I know next to nothing about Folsom.

By Feb, if we get no rain, you could carry more water in a jug than that lake will have in it.

The spot below the lowest ramp is packed sand, been seeing a few boats a day out there, bass boats and good sized trackers but from the looks of it that will only be there for another week or so.  It's still easy to shore launch a yak but you will get your feet muddy. As It continues to drop the shorelines are going to get even steeper and quite a lot of submerged trees are gonna pop up, and the mud will be even worse. I'm sure there will still be spots to launch but it could be a pita. We'll see...

Took the family out there this past Sunday and it was a zoo. The place was packed and we had to wait in a long line stretching all the way from the pay booth to the main road at Browns Ravine. When we got to the booth we asked if there was an event going on or what and she said everyone is coming to see the old structures and foundations from the town that was flooded over. Parked and walked out like the rest of the droves of people. Here are a couple of shots from the launch ramp and one our big girl Daisy. I definitely could not carry my yak all the way to the water.

Thanks guys. I think I'll just fish a different lake. Sounds like too much of a headache already. Dude, Daisy is awesome!

There were way more people out there earlier in the day. The pics were taken at the end of the day as we were leaving.  Thanks! Jeffo. Daisy is our little sweetheart.

Nice Mastiff. My oldest kid is Mastiff. We should hook up and let the kids play. I also live in Elk Grove.

Here is a Folsom post from another forum, you will need a 4x4 right now especially if it rains:
