Might want to add "Chapter" under NorCal to be consistent with some of the other logos. I think the salute idea is good. Having a male and female silhouette would be good also as many of our vets are women. There is probably room for a short caption. Maybe some like "We appreciate your sacrifice." I think some vets feel like their sacrifice is not appreciated or forgotten.

is it possible to have a salute figure with fighting men & women silhouetted too,  maybe smaller and of course the dog!  Getting a little busy, but that's where at right now, ideas…

Here's a couple more of silhouettes...  I couldn't find any female silhouettes online.  Correction, I couldn't find any appropriate female silhouettes online.    I'm not artistically adept enough to create one, but I'm sure someone could.

Personally, I like the orange paddle. Visually, it "pops" and pulls the eye to the paddle. 

I dig the K-9 in Gecko's design!

I was already ahead of you guys on the salute I have one all ready to go for it. This design is looking good for a shirt and print media would be kinda hard for like a sticker for our yaks but we can see. I'm off from work now and after a shower and a few things around the house I was planning on working on the design some more and also have a few other designs in my head for signatures and also username stickers for our yaks so that will be come later.

I envision a soldier kneeling with a yak paddle standing upward.

James, try changing the blue in the NorCal to a lighter color, to contrast more from the blue background.

a lighter color will actually blend in more with the lighter background, but ill try it.

I pulled the colors out of the how logo see if this is better, I tried a real light blue and it just looked funky. im also wondering if a flat color would look better with a white stroke.

I think you're right, the lighter colors blend in too much. 

Also, is it just me or does the Bay look like a silhouette of a whale tail in relation to the other silhouettes?

I think the K-9 orientation would look better with its head closer to the handler... just seems more "right"

I'm just tossing thoughts out there.  I think the design kicks-ass regardless!  Seriously, impressive work.

I like the bottom one the best of anything yet. Great job Gecko !! I wouldn't change a thing.
