So after a day of diving and having applied conditioner on the suit........what process do you use to clean and dry your wetsuit.

My scuba suit I just let soak in a tub with some "sink the stink" and then just hang to dry. Not sure if that will get out the conditioner or not.

I just hose it off...unless it's a short week and I'm diving again soon and then it just stays in the back of the car.  :smt003

If I remember I try and turn it inside out for a night before I dive again so the inside dries and is not cold and wet when I go to put it back on.

But besides that I haven't been doing anything fancy...

The conditioner keeps the piss smell down!

Hose it off and hang inside out. The neoprene can stick together if left in contact for too long.

Hang it inside out to dry, the inside won't dry otherwise.

So far no ones mentioned any kind of soap to remove the stink just water.

Will "sink the stink' work on these suits as well?

I'm a newbie, but I rinse it off (both sides) with a hose, turn it inside out and let the inside dry first and then turn it right side out. This was my first year diving but mine does not stink. I also don't dive as often as all you'al!  :smt003

How does everybody hang and sort their suits???

I never used that "sink the stink" stuff.  When I wash my gear I fill a tub half way with water then add a little laundry detergent and cup or three of white vinegar.  The first thing I do is put the suit in the tub, inside out and dunk it for a while then hang it to dry on a piece of rope that I have stretched across my hammock stand.  Then I do the rest of my gear in the tub.  I don't use too much soap, I'm not looking for suds.  The vinegar is supposed to be anti-bacterial.  I don't know if it works but it's cheap so I put it in the mix.  After a while I flip the suit over to dry the other side.  Once that's dry I flip it right side out and dry the outside so I can fold and store it in a plastic crate.

Thanks Rob do you store it right side out in your crate? What do you know about the sticking together of the neoprene? Will storing it in the fashion that you describe prevent it from sticking?

Yes, I turn it right side out, fold it and pack it.  I feel the outside protects the suit from damage.  I don't stack anything on top of the suit because I don't want to compress the neoprene.  Hanging the suit on a wide hangar to prevent it from creasing would be better than folding.  If you are putting it away for a long time you can put talc inside to keep it from sticking together (this is how they ship custom suits), but I have never had a problem with sticking in the short term (a month or so), or ever  All suits I have ever seen are kept right side out whether for display or for shipment.  As long as they are put away dry and in a cool place they shouldn't stick.
