I'm curious on how you guys are finding room for all your stuff.on this forum some guys sell to buy new stuff.some just sell and some just buy.as for me my garage is not very big and I do want to get a revo, hopefully this year.but as I look around my garage there is crap everywhere .boxes with kayak stuff than my abalone stuff then the rods and fishing gear I managed to stuff in the corner.maybe I'm just not organized .
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

My kayaks get stored under my back deck.
All of my other gear is stored in plastic totes (to keep the critters and dust off) behind the door of my 10x12 shed, the same shed I store all my tools and do all of my artwork in :smt003.

It keeps me from having too much stuff!

2x4s and plywood......

I built a free standing Kayak specific rack 3ft wide, 14ft long and the top is at about 5'6" high.

The lower 24" is open space and I slide in the T13 lenghtwise on a trolly system so it sits underneath in it's own little cave.

On top goes the old mainstream 9' Costco yak like the one Eric drags up and down the beach.

In between is a combo of shelves and racks for all the crap.

The whole thing sits lengthwise in the garage about 4 ft from the far side wall so that I also get to hang/store stuff on that wall.

So where would you store a kayak .and yes those are Christmas lights .I don't have the money call an electrician yet.so that's why I said hoping to get one this year.there are more pressing matters. I'm really trying to avoid hanging it.got young kids and a clumsy wife
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

Looks like a good setup. Do you have pictures?

I could take some tomorrow and post'em, it's worked out for me as a good use of floor space, but it's nothing fancy.

here is my rack in the garage. You can also go to "Craftsman" section and there is a whole thread on storing yaks.

I just need another wall, to add to my fleet. Mahoney brackets work for me.

I built a rack on wheels for my kayaks. It allows me to wheel it next to my truck so I don't have to pick up my kayak and carry it out of the garage. It also doubles as a kayak stand when I want to work on it. There is also a upper shelf that gives me room for gear. Not too much gear on top though or I have to take it off to get it out of the garage door. I want to add hooks so i can hang my fishing poles on it. I also have a shelf in the garage for kayak gear and a bunch of bins for fishing gear.

Here's mine, yak on the bottom on wheels, yak on the top (38#), crap in the middle. placed about 4 ft from one wall allows storage in between the rack and the wall.

My son says my version of cleaning out the garage consists of just packing it together tighter.

The fish????? I couldn't resist, it wasn't that big but it sure was pretty.
