Drhabanero,
I was thinking about you as we drove home and wondering how it went.  I'm glad you made it home.  Whenever I saw a car on the side of the road I would check to see if it was you.  Hopefully the problem went away, and if not, I hope it doesn't cost too much to fix.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll just drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience.

I had fun! See you all soon. I have to give props put to Victor for helping me out by bringing my kayak home for me. I was stressed out all weekend about leaving with my truck not running good and glad he was able to pitch in. It was a stressful first hour driving slow up and out of Shelter Cove but was so glad that the rest of the way was downhill it seemed.  I also want to give props out to See Pete the mobile mechanic in Shelter Cove , he was so helpful to me during this situation and went far and beyond what I would have expected from someone in this area. I could not believe how when I said I was with the NCKA group , he was so happy to have us down there and what we meant for their community. It was very heart warming and I can't say enough about him . Glad I made it safely home but sad I couldn't stay longer and in a better mood.

pff off the hook guys.

Made a stop for fast food on the way home from gs8. Choices were mcdonalds and taco bell. And then i remembered the fish tacos at gs8 and how no other tacos will live up to them. Needless to say, i picked McD's.  :smt044

Anytime you leave an event and you are anticipating the next one, GS9.  you know you are lucky to be alive and to have experienced it.

Thanks Eric and family, and to all those responsible for putting this glorious event together.

We had a blast, love you all! I brought back nice fillets forms a 32 1/2 "ling on my new combo, great fun! I think it was the third biggest Ling of the day and it made mine! I elevated a couple ding blacks had a nice whale event, he came up 20 feet behind me and stayed up a few seconds checking stuff out, stink breath...I could have run across his back, pretty cool. Great food but I've been a beer drinking lightweight lately so after pigging out a couple heavy beers puts me to sleep, next year I'll have to have some coffee.

two glorious days of big fish, glassy water, long paddles, wonderful company, great food, and cold beers.

Life is good.

So incredibly bummed I couldn't make it this year. This last year has been tough for me away from all my NCKA brothers and sisters I have made in the last couple of years. I'm in the last couple of months of school right now and my schedule wouldn't allow for GS8 or the upcoming Albion tirp. Glad everyone made it up and back safe and sound. I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

A thank you to everyone who posts up pics of the event, those of us who couldn't make it appreciate them more than you can imagine!!

It is impossible to describe the friendships, and connections you make through this site. Most people don't understand when you try to explain what NCKA is and what it is all about. All I know is these are some of the best people you can ever meet, and some of the best memories you can make!!
