Cheap 1" RamMount ball alternative

I needed a 1" ball to mount my GoPro on my T13. Didn't have one so I started to look around my garage. I had a couple ball bungees from Harbor Freight lying around and I couldn't help but notice that its very similar in size. I took the bungee cord out and also noticed that there is flat spot in the hollow section (perfect for a screw/washer). I used the same screw that holds the front right battery bag strap to mount the ball to the kayak. The ball was sandwiched between the screw/washer (also had laying around)on top and washer with rubber lining (that was already installed on the kayak) on the bottom. It was a perfect fit with the double socket arm. It holds really tight without having to crank it too hard. I used the bungee cord as a lanyard just in case it ever fails on me. Gonna get a dog bone later on and use this same method to mount another ball on the top of my dry box. I wouldn't use this on anything that is really heavy but for things like cameras it should work just fine. You can get a 4pk of bungees at Harbor Freight for $2.49.
