I'm pretty new on the board, but I just had to post up that I got a new Trident 13! I'm damn excited. Hopefully it comes wrapped in plastic that can keep me warm, because the wife isn't happy about it  :smt044

I figure it'll be a new adventure. I've fished my entire life, and yak fishing in the salt seems like it's a blast. Hopefully it'll lead me to many firsts. I'm hoping I can catch a halibut from it, and I've never crabbed before, so I got some Danielson pots as well. I also have a Hummingbird 688ci on the way for it.

You will love it.  I paddle T-13s for work and they are great all-around boats.

I didn't realize it, but her biggest hangup was the space it was going to take up in our small house. I've now got it mounted up the the ceiling of the garage in a sling that I made for it and she seems to be mellowing out. My mother in law took some time to bitch at me for getting the kayak instead of a bigger fridge. Well, a fridge can't help you get fish and abs. Everyone here knows I made the right choice.  :smt002 :smt002

fishcomb, that a sweet setup you got there.  A ton of space saving for storing two kayaks inside.  Is the garage wall frame strong enough to support hanging two kayaks?  Or, is the bottom kayak actually resting on the floor, supported the wood planks?

i bought two sets of these j racks:

http://www.amazon.com/Seattle-Sports-Kayak-Wall-Cradles/dp/B001OPH8NC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389302437&sr=8-1&keywords=kayak+wall

and then i made sure each j rack has their own 2x4 studs so i don't overload it with the weight of the kayaks

the wood on the floor is my left over wood from projects :smt044

I use these for my kayak:

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-50-lb-Steel-Heavy-Duty-Padded-Arm-Hanger-18042/202305548#

$6 for a padded 50 pound hanger. Tough to beat that price!

good for you..interesting kayak...can it be shouldered alone?
