Congrats ATD!!  winning AOTY is a very tough accomplishment. It takes lots of time, dedication and seasonal plan of attacking.....getting all of these to line up take alot.

Here is a picture of ATD at GS3 May 2009. I believe his first time on the ocean. Bare feet and ski cap, somehow I knew he would become a great angler. There is no substitute for the pure joy of fishing. Competition and winning is secondary to that.

NCKA is a great community of generous people, and Scott was the first to personally introduce me to the spirit of NCKA at GS3. So, if anyone wants to know who to blame, it's Scott. 

It took me 3 years of competition to win AOTY, and it has been an education. I have been privileged to learn from many of you. I would especially like to thank RacinRob. Rob is a great angler, and he is the only once crazy enough to make Sac-Trinidad-Sac banzai day trips with me.

As for fishing hours and stats.. I stopped keeping track out of fear that Linda might open my fishing stats spreadsheet and find out how much I fish. Suffice it to say that I fished more than any employed and married man should fish, and then I fished a little more.

Thanks to all of my competitors this year and past for continually raising the bar. Thanks also to polepole and the AOTY committee for putting up with me.
